2009 Season Final Standings

At the end of the 2009 season the Red Sox finished 8 games behind the New York Yankees in their division. However they did win the wild card and advanced into the playoffs. In the ALDS they faced the LA Angles in a best of three series. The first games was played in LA which the Angles won 5-0. The next game was also in LA with the same result in a 1-4 loss. The series moved to Fenway Park where the Angles completed their sweep with a 7-6 victory.
